About Us

When I was very young my father told me stories about the difficulty he had trying to locate his father’s, grave. He told me that he knew which cemetery he was buried in but that the marker was gone and the area had long since been over grown with weeds.  By the time he died in February of 2000, he had not found his father's grave. Through the help of my mother, sisters, aunt, uncle and friends, I found the cemetery and the general area of the grave.

Mr. Entzmiger, the caretaker and owner, has kept the cemetery neat and well maintained. He also kept amazing records.  With his help, I found the exact location of my grandfather's grave. It wasn't marked. I later, along with my sisters, bought a gravestone, had it engraved and placed it at the head of my grandfather's, Percy White Sr, grave.

After sharing the information with my immediate family, I realized the importance of making it available to all

my family members. This website was created to celebrate and remember the people important to our lives.

There are two major sections to the website; Families and African American History.  The Families, Family Tree Index and Family Research Tips pages are used for researching and preserving family history.

The Men, Women, Churches, Cemeteries, Schools and Places of Interest pages explore the familiar and not well known people, places and events in African American History.  I personally visited the locations, took the pictures, researched the information and now share my findings with you.  New information is added on a regular basis.  Visit the website often to research your family tree and to learn more about African American history.
